Bonn/Eindhoven, 23. April 2025 – A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. (ISIN: NL0010872388, WKN A12AGY), A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V., a leading company in the field of decentralized, climate-friendly biomass power plants, today published the figures for its German operating site, which is responsible for the Group’s operational business.
Based on the HGB financial statements, the 2024 fiscal year generated revenues of €13.0 million—an increase of approximately €0.9 million compared with 2023’s €12.1 million. This growth was driven by the delivery, assembly and partial commissioning of the first plants for a Japanese customer.
Earnings before tax (EBT) for 2024 decreased to around €50,000, down from approximately €1.0 million in the prior year. Total output rose to €13.5 million, up €1.9 million from €11.6 million in 2023.
“AHT remains committed to its growth path despite delays. We have optimized the structures built on strong business, and advanced standardization to lay the foundation for our next steps toward becoming a CO₂-neutral energy supplier. Thanks to these standardization efforts, we can already reduce project lead times by 30 %, significantly lowering product costs and increasing profitability,” said Gero Ferges, CEO of AHT.
The balance sheet total of the Overath (North Rhine-Westphalia) site rose to €10.5 million under HGB (from €6.7 million as of December 31, 2023), reflecting strong growth across all asset categories. The equity ratio stands at a robust 68.8 %, up on the prior year thanks to a recent capital measure.
The company, headquartered in the Netherlands, will publish its audited consolidated financial statements under Dutch GAAP at the end of June.
“Our HGB figures continue to demonstrate growth. The ongoing transition from HGB to Dutch GAAP could still lead to changes in the timing of revenue recognition, the reclassification of costs, valuations and provisions—approaches that differ between HGB and Dutch accounting standards,” explained Dr. Diego Freydl, Commercial Director of AHT.
“Project delays in Japan have prompted us to channel our capacity into the European business. Here, using the same plant size as in Japan, we have already successfully built and commissioned the first unit replacing natural gas in a coating-curing process. Branded as the AHT-HotGas-R116 Module, it serves as a blueprint for companies with high-temperature heat needs to establish CO₂-neutral production. One AHT-HotGas-R116 Module replaces up to 1.25 million m³ of natural gas and cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 2,000 tonnes per year—providing locally secured, CO₂-neutral energy for a future-proof industry. Based on this success, we will roll out the product to offset the delays in Japan,” added CEO Gero Ferges.
A large portion of the losses is being covered by loans from the Supervisory and Management Boards, underscoring the leadership’s confidence in the company and its business model.
AHT sees further growth opportunities in establishing itself as an energy supplier and in biomass-derived hydrogen. Concrete plans are underway to build out this segment. As European projects are long-term and will only translate into revenue over time, we expect 2025 revenues to decline to approximately €7.5 million, with a six-figure loss. For 2026, AHT anticipates a return to profitability and a continuation of its growth trajectory.
