After the project launch of the innovative renewable energy park funded by the BMWF in August, AHT as a participating company now took part in the official laying of the foundation stone and the kick-off meeting.
As part of the project coordinated by the Rottenburg Forestry College, AHT will install the heart of the technology park for energy generation from waste: The 50 KWel twin-fire synthesis gas plant, which utilizes regionally generated residual materials from agriculture and forestry. The electricity generated by the connected CHP unit will be fed into the local grid directly at the UNER site, and the waste heat will supply a cold store with cooling via an absorption refrigeration machine.
In addition to the project-leading Rottenburg University of Applied Forest Sciences and AHT, project partners on the European side are NeyerBrainworks GmbH (Austria) and Novis GmbH (Germany). On the Ghanaian side, UENR, which is co-financing the project to a large extent, is supporting the project. Other companies such as Abellon Clean-Energy Ghana Ltd, Oti Yeboah Complex Ltd, Zoomlion Co Ltd, GRATIS Foundation, Green Water Hut, the national Energy and Forestry Commission and the Sunyani Municipal Assembly are also involved in the project.
We at AHT would like to thank the Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences and UNER for the perfect organization of the foundation stone laying ceremony and the whole trip to Ghana. We are looking forward to the coming steps in the project and wish all participants and all well-wishers of the “LevelUp” project a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
