Bonn/Eindhoven, June 3, 2025. A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. (ISIN NL0010872388, WKN A12AGY), a leading company in the field of decentralized, climate-friendly biomass power plants, is launching the next phase of a long-term collaboration with one of Japan’s leading partners in the plastics recycling sector.
Our projects in the waste sector impressively demonstrate that technological innovations continue to make successful progress. The focus of this third project phase, is the commercialization of a jointly developed technology based on a thermal process for the material recycling of plastics.
After the successful completion of the first two phases, testing in a laboratory facility and the construction of a pilot plant, the collaboration now aims at the commercialization of the jointly developed technology. The goal is to convert plastics into usable gases through thermal decomposition, which in turn serve as the basis for new plastics production, a key step towards closing carbon cycles. “The thermal conversion of plastics is a crucial lever for establishing a functioning circular economy. By entering the commercialization phase, we are setting the course for the sustainable management of plastic waste, which are both technologically advanced, and economically scalable,” explained by AHT CEO and founder Gero Ferges.
The technological approach is complemented by alternative material recycling routes, such as the use of carbon molecules from biological residues or waste to replace fossil resources.
A mid- to high seven-figure business volume is expected for the commercial phase starting in 2026.
