Commissioning phase of biomass power plant in Japan & new order for aremtech

Overath/Bonn/Leipzig, August 20, 2024 – A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. (“AHT”), headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (ISIN NL0010872388, WKN A12AGY), has made significant progress on two major projects.

Commissioning phase of the first of 20 planned 2 MW power plants in Japan

In Niigata Prefecture, Japan, the first biomass power plant from a major order from a Japanese customer is in the commissioning phase, paving the way for continuous operation. After around 14 months of planning and construction, the construction of the plant has been completed with the installation of the combined heat and power units as the final stage of the subsequent energy generation process. Parallel to the test operation, final work is being carried out on the cooling water systems and the connection to the existing infrastructure.

Each biomass power plant for the customer consists – as standard – of four gasification lines that produce synthesis gas for the operation of up to ten combined heat and power plants. From the fourth quarter, the plant will gradually start generating energy from synthesis gas. With a planned production capacity of 1.99 megawatts of electrical power (MWel), AHT’s innovative technology will make a significant contribution to decentralized energy supply and sustainability. The Japanese government is supporting CO2-neutral power generation with attractive feed-in tariffs.

The next power plants at other locations are already in various stages of construction. Thanks to the serial approach in the development and production of biomass power plants, AHT can benefit from efficiency gains in all of the other 19 power plants as part of the major order.

AHT subsidiary aremtech receives order to supply a biomass processing and loading plant

This week, the Leipzig-based subsidiary aremtech was awarded a major project to develop and supply a state-of-the-art biomass processing and automated loading plant. The customer, a leading raw materials trader from Hesse and Thuringia, has opted for aremtech’s complete solution, whose innovative technology ensures a throughput of 50 tons per hour. The project has a volume of over 200,000 euros and comprises the complete system technology including the control system as well as installation and commissioning on site.

This order strengthens aremtech’s profile as a specialist in the processing, upgrading and transportation of biomass. AHT Syngas Technology, which has held a 75.1 percent stake in aremtech since last year, can further sharpen its profile along the process chain through this project and underlines its ability to offer a portfolio of standardized and efficient solutions for complete industrial requirements.

“We are proud that aremtech has won this important contract. The project demonstrates our strength in providing specialized plant solutions that significantly improve efficiency in biomass supply. This success is another step in our efforts to further expand AHT’s position as a leading solution provider in the field of CleanTech plants,” says Gero Ferges, CEO of AHT Syngas Technology.
