Bonn/Eindhoven, July 8, 2025 – A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. (ISIN NL0010872388, WKN A12AGY) today published its final figures for fiscal year 2024 under Dutch GAAP. These differ from the preliminary figures announced on April 23, 2025, which were prepared based on German accounting principles (HGB).
Dutch GAAP accounting is necessary because, although the company conducts its operations in Germany, its legal headquarters are in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
While a positive annual result was reported under German commercial law (HGB), the reconciliation to Dutch GAAP results in a net loss for the year. The reason for this is the different accounting for ongoing projects: According to Dutch GAAP, revenue from ongoing construction and service contracts may only be accounted for to the extent of the services actually rendered in the respective period (see Dutch GAAP DAS221/270).
According to Dutch GAAP, project revenue may only be recognized in profit or loss if the corresponding services were rendered in the same period. In some projects, invoices have already been issued in accordance with the contract, while the actual service provision only occurs after the reporting date, i.e., in the following period. This leads to a different accounting for work in process (WIP) and to reduced revenue or a negative result in the balance sheet or income statement according to Dutch GAAP.
In the 2024 fiscal year, this resulted in revenue according to Dutch GAAP falling to approximately EUR 8.3 million (previous year: EUR 13.6 million), and earnings after taxes to approximately EUR -2.45 million (previous year: EUR 0.72 million). The reported result reflects deferred advance payments, the corresponding services of which will not be rendered until after the reporting period. These adjustments are not cash-relevant.
