A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. (“A.H.T.”) participates in the “Biomass Gasification Working Group”, which was founded on the initiative of the EnergyResearch.NRW (CEF.NRW) cluster with the aim of creating an exchange and networking between regional research institutions and companies. The founding meeting took place at the location of the “:metabolon” research institute – at this location an A.H.T. gas production line is being installed for research and teaching purposes (we reported). This research and development will also be discussed in the working group.
The decentralized gas, heat and power generation from biomass such as agricultural and municipal residues is one of the climate-neutral possibilities of biomass utilisation, while reducing waste streams at the same time. The main focus will also be on the utilisation of hydrogen or phosphorus from thermochemical processes, but also on obstacles which impact further development and installation of decentralised biomass gasification plants in North-Rhine Westphalia, a federal state in Germany.
Founding members of the AG are, in addition to A.H.T., representatives of RWTH Aachen University, the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT and the Technical University of Cologne. The CEF.NRW is part of the EnergyAgency.NRW, on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitisation and Energy of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Further information about the Working Group can be found on the website of :metabolon (in German language).
