A.H.T. steps on the gas: Energy efficiency in Industry and agriculture – German funding programs

Within the framework of the “Federal Promotion of Energy Efficiency in the Economy” programme, German governmental funding is also provided for process heat plants, operating with biomass. A.H.T. Syngas Technology N.V. (in short “A.H.T.”) welcomes this innovation. With its product segment of clean and hot gas solutions, the company offers exactly the technology on an industrial scale “Made in Germany” to offer energy-intensive companies an appropriate alternative. At the same time, A.H.T. is able to act as an intermediary for suppliers of energy consulting and audits.

In the wake of new regulations regarding energy efficiency and CO2 taxation or emission rights trading, more and more companies are looking for ways to optimise their electricity and heat requirements and switch to renewable energy sources. The German government provides funding for this – in addition to funding for energy consulting services, this now also includes a funding programme for process heat from renewable energy sources, which also entails the use of renewable residual and raw materials. Information on this can be found on the websites of the BMWi.

In addition, corresponding feasibility studies and planning are also being funded in order to make it easier for the manufacturing industry to switch from fossil fuels and to increase the incentive within the framework of the climate policy goals that have been set.

Using self-energy production from waste materials as an opportunity

Especially A.H.T.’s unique selling propositions such as correspondingly large plants and the utilisation of a wide range of biogenic residues at high efficiency are suitable for energy-intensive industries. One example: paper and wood-processing industries can use their own residual materials as energy sources and thus avoid disposal and procurement costs. This improves the profitability of the companies.

“A.H.T. will now penetrate this market with priority by means of targeted customer acquisition measures”, explains Gero Ferges, CEO of A.H.T. “We are pleased to be able to approach existing contacts in the industries that have so far shied away from switching to more efficient, less expensive and climate-neutral heat production”.

In so-called hybrid systems in combination with non-regulable energy sources such as sun and wind, it is also possible to achieve the necessary reliability and constant availability that such industrial processes require. Here, too, A.H.T. plans to position itself accordingly with new strategic partners.

Thanks to our existing experience in the use of various waste materials, our broad network of partners and cooperation with research institutes, we can offer our customers the solution that is perfectly tailored to their needs.
